MORNING Cup Stacking/Pickle ball: – Cup stacking with Speed Stacks is an exciting individual and team sport that promotes hand-eye coordination, ambidexterity, quickness, and concentration. Cup stacking helps students use both sides of their bodies and brains to develop important athletic and lifelong skills. GYMNASTICS: Learn the basics of gymnastics skills, such as: forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and bridges, as well as coordination, agility, strength, and flexibility. Panhandle Perfection instructors provide instruction. Fashion Design/Art: Students will learn about fashion trends through the decades and be given the opportunity to design and model. This camp encompasses the fundamentals of fashion design, balance, proportion, emphasis, rhythm, and unity as students use their imagination for their own. Creations. Students will also learn the basics of modeling and have opportunities to practice their skills in the final fashion show modeling their favorite ensembles and their own design prototype! Art/Fashion Design: SEE BLACKROCKET FOLDER (12-16) TO REGISTER FOR THE CLASS BELOW Black Rocket: (Model United Nation) Registration available in the Black Rocker folder. Become one of the 400,000 students around the world in Model United Nations! Assume the role of an ambassador and represent your country to solve current world issues. Throughout the week students will research a world problem, develop solutions, and negotiate consensus with their peers. This program teaches teens and tweens core skills such as research, writing, public speaking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Model UN alumni have gone on to become Supreme Court justices, world leaders, lawyers, and business professionals. No prior experience is needed. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. | AFTERNOON Arts & Spanish: Spanish/Art: In this class, students will be introduced to basic vocabulary and become familiar with common phrases that will provide the foundation of the Spanish language. Also, they will be able to interact through various activities including hands-on projects about culture, customs, food and music of Spanish speaking countries. Special: SEE BLACKROCKET FOLDER (12-16) TO REGISTER FOR THE CLASS BELOW Black Rocket: (Day in Court) Registration available in the Black Rocket folder. Play the roles of judge, defendant, plaintiff, witness, lawyer, bailiff, or juror in several mock trials. Learn how to make opening and closing statements, how to phrase objections, and how to question witnesses. Pull all your skills together at the end of the week as you participate in a final mock trial based on cases from past national and state-level Mock Trial competitions. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. |
