Morning Session
American Indian Art/Fashion Design: Students will engage in 90 minutes of a rich diversity of significance of American Indians including pottery, weaving, beadwork, and painting. Students will engage in conversation on techniques and symbols used; then create their own design and appreciation to American Indian Art. Students will also attend 90 minutes about fashion trends through the decades and be given the opportunity to and model. This camp encompasses the fundamentals of fashion design, balance, proportion, emphasis, rhythm, and unity as students use their imagination for their own creations. Students will also learn the basics of modeling and have opportunities to practice their skills in the final fashion show modeling their favorite ensembles and their own design prototype! CupStacking/Tennis: Campers will participate in 90 minutes of the fundamental tennis skills, techniques, and game rules in an exciting and fun atmosphere, nurturing growth and development. And 90 minutes of Cup stacking with Speed Stacks is an exciting individual and team sport that promotes hand-eye coordination, ambidexterity, quickness, and concentration. Cup stacking helps students use both sides of their bodies and brains to develop important athletic and lifelong skills.
Gymnastics – Learn the basics of gymnastics skills, such as: forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands and bridges, as well as coordination, agility, strength and flexibility. Swim/Coding: 90 minutes of Classroom and water instructions. Learn the basic water safety along with proper swim strokes and a variety of sporting activities. Bring a swimsuit, towel, and play clothes for each day. 90 minutes of Unlock the world of technology with our coding camp! During this fun, interactive, and hands-on course, campers will explore the world of coding by creating their own games, animations, and stories. The goal of a coding camp is not only to teach kids programming skills but to spark their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) fields Coding/Sports: 90 minutes of Unlock the world of technology with our coding camp! During this fun, interactive, and hands-on course, campers will explore the world of coding by creating their own games, animations, and stories. The goal of a coding camp is not only to teach kids programming skills but to spark their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) fields 90 minutes of Sports Sampler (waiting on lesson plans) Academic Topic: Math in the Kitchen- ages 9-12- Students will work on math skills In conjunction with doubling or halfing recipes. The culminating project would be a recipe book the students would be able to take home SEE BLACKROCKET FOLDER TO REGISTER FOR THE CLASS BELOW Black Rocket: Minecraft® Designers If you love the game Minecraft and always wanted to design your own world, this class is for you! Learn how to create a custom map, design structures to share between worlds, build with Redstone and Command blocks, and create custom textures for you to import at home or share with friends. Students must have the Java version of Minecraft to take this class. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. |
