Instructor Bio

Brenda Wood uses a variety of techniques to design her whimsical gourd creations. She may include woodburning, metallic paints, beads and stains on whole gourds, or she may cut them to create drums or “Gourd Boards” with birds, bees, turtles or other curiosities. She has been developing her unique gourd style since 1998 and along the way has taught “Painted Gourd” classes in several states, written gourd growing guides for various publications, and has sold her award-winning art in shows and galleries.
