The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) Eating Healthy on a Limited Budget workshop will include:
- Planning Healthy Meals on a Budget: Healthy, delicious, quick, easy, and low cost recipes.
- Save Money by Buying Produce that’s In-Season: Farmer’s Market, Grocery, and Gardening.
- Choose Healthy Foods at the Store: MyPlate, Labels, Nutrition Facts, and Ingredients Lists.
- “To Buy or Not to Buy in Bulk”? Unit Prices, Batch Cooking (Cooking in Bulk), and Meal Prepping.
- Make a List, Take Inventory, Eating Smart: FIFO-First In First Out, Don’t Waste Food, and Food Safety.
- Cook More and Eat at Home: Dining-In vs. Dining-Out
- Store Savings Apps and Coupons: Fetch, Ibotta, Rakuten, Grocery 51, E-Coupons, etc.
- Maximizing Federally Funded Programs: WIC, SNAP, Food Pantries, and Food Distribution Events.
