Description:
Emerging Adulthood has been identified as a new age period of the human lifespan. It fits between Adolescence (12-18) and Early Adulthood. Emerging Adulthood is defined as individuals ages 18-27 who do not embrace what are considered “traditional markers” of adulthood. Emerging Adults are the “boomerang generation,” moving in and out of their parents’ homes repeatedly, change college majors frequently, and are seen as lacking in commitment. This workshop will define Emerging Adulthood, identify the changing markers of adulthood which are embraced by Emerging Adults, and offer strategies on dealing with Emerging Adults in the classroom.
