About:
English Language Learners (ELLs) are students from non-English speaking homes and backgrounds. A complex and highly diverse group of students, ELLs are the fastest growing segment of the K12 student population. These students, who may be conversationally proficient in English, sometimes find it challenging to engage with academic language and content. In this workshop, participants will discuss approaches to and methods for addressing the needs of ELL students. In addition, the presenters will share available PSC resources and teaching strategies designed to support ELL students and to help them achieve academic success.
