The multi-generational workplace and classroom have become more commonplace. We have Boomers (born after World War II), Emerging Adults (ages 18-28), and the Sandwich Generation (what we usually call Generation X, the children of the Boomers). Each of these generations has a different learning style and expectation of the classroom or workplace training. We will analyze these groups, list defining events of each generation, identify group characteristics, recognize approaches to learning, and discuss strategies to best reach a generation other than our own.
