About:
PSC is launching a student affiliate chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the nation's oldest advertising trade organization. This session introduces the club to faculty and staff across the college so they can help connect students to it. The club is open to any student interested in advertising, marketing, media, communication, or creative work. Traditionally, this includes graphic design and business students along with those in entrepreneurship courses or with an entrepreneurial spirit.

What we'll cover:

  • What AAF is and what a student affiliate chapter does
  • Benefits to students: professional networking through the Pensacola chapter, portfolio and résumé building, mentorship from working professionals, scholarship opportunities, and the American Advertising Awards (ADDYs)
  • Why it matters for entrepreneurs: every founder has to market their own venture — AAF gives entrepreneurial students real-world branding, advertising, and pitching experience plus a local professional network to launch with
  • The National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC): an annual competition where student teams build a full campaign for a real national client — hands-on agency-style experience affiliation makes possible for PSC students
  • Benefits to the college: industry connections, student engagement and retention, visibility for PSC programs, and cross-disciplinary collaboration between design, business, entrepreneurship, and other departments
  • How faculty and staff can help: identifying and referring interested students from any program — design, business, entrepreneurship, and beyond
  • Remarks from the AAF Pensacola Chapter President on the local chapter's support for the student affiliate

Q&A: 15 minutes, with the Chapter President available for questions
