Things to be aware of regarding our trade-specific training.
- These are accelerated versions of our college trade programs, and as a result, we will be covering a lot of material efficiently and purposefully. This means that it is a must that students are on time and able to attend every class. If a student misses multiple classes, then they will fall behind and may not be able to complete the program.
- Students will need to read and study both their core and level one trade-specific books outside of classroom time and will have to pass the module exams for each chapter. These books are 400+ pages each, and students will need to pass over 30 + exams, with exams being held every week. The passing of the module exams and practical skills assessment is required to receive your certifications.
- Regardless of the Chosen Program, your success will largely depend on the effort you are willing to put into the program, through your study preparations and practice during workshop training. Our instructors will prepare you for all the tests along the way, but missing classes or avoiding practice/studying can set you back. Please ensure that the class time slot you sign up for is one you can regularly commit to. The program is at no cost to you due to grant funding; all we ask is that you show up ready to learn and give your all so that you can get the full benefit by the end of your time in the program.
How/Where do I start the process?
Our PSC Rebuilds Application Event will be the standard starting point for most applicants to learn more about the programs we offer, including the times and dates for the programs that are already scheduled, and where we will answer any questions regarding how to complete the application.
The Century Application Events will take place at the Pensacola State College Century Center in room 7121, 440 E Hecker Rd, Century, FL 32535.
The event will last around 1 – 1 ½ hours. There will be a brief introduction to the PSC Rebuild Program and the application process. We will go over any common questions or situations that tend to require more detailed explanation, and participants will be able to ask general questions during this time. If the applicants have more specific or individual questions, they can ask our staff directly during the time allotted for participants to complete their applications.
Once the participant completes the application, they will submit the application and their supporting documents to our staff. Applications will then be processed by our staff, and an email with a decision will be sent to the participants within 30 days of the application event.
When registering for the event, please select the date/time that works best for you and arrive on time/early to ensure you will have enough time to finish your application and get the information you are looking for about each program.
If you come prepared with all of your supporting documents, then completing the application will be fairly simple. If your situation requires more detailed consideration during the application event, then our staff will work with you to identify any additional information or documents that we will need from you and provide options on how you can submit those documents to us.
What supporting documents will you need to bring with you to the event to complete your application? (A picture of the document checklist can be found in the images for this registration)
