Course Description
Reduce stress, improve flexibility, and build strength through a unique blend of Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Pilates, resistance band training, and stretching.
This course focuses on body mechanics, the way we move and use our bodies in daily life. Students will learn techniques that promote better posture, balance, weight distribution, flexibility, and overall functional movement. Particular attention is given to supporting the neck, back, hips, knees, and core muscles through safe and controlled movement.
Participants will also learn the importance of breathing techniques for relaxation, balance, stamina, and strength. Weight-bearing activities and resistance training are incorporated to improve muscle strength and support healthy bone density.
Every class is designed to be safe, supportive, and adaptable for various fitness levels.

Instructor Bio
Renshi Tori Willis Oaks is a fitness, martial arts, and dance instructor with more than 45 years of experience helping students improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall wellness.
Tori began her career in California in 1978 teaching aerobics and step fitness classes. After relocating to Miami, she became a certified Arthur Murray dance instructor and taught ballroom and Latin dance while continuing to lead a variety of fitness programs throughout the area.
In 1988, Tori began her martial arts training at the National Karate Academy of Miami. She currently holds the rank of Godan (5th Degree Black Belt) and the title of Renshi in Shendo Goju Ryu. Her training includes Karate, Jujitsu, and Tai Chi, with an emphasis on health, healing, balance, and lifelong wellness. Throughout her career, she has taught children and adults, conducted self-defense workshops, weapons seminars, rank testing, and competitive tournaments.
Tori expanded her teaching repertoire in 2004 by studying and performing Belly Dance. She later joined the Snake Charmers Troupe and performed at festivals and community events.
After moving to Pensacola in 2008, Tori began teaching a variety of fitness and wellness courses at Pensacola State College. In 2013, she expanded her programs to include classes through the City of Pensacola Parks and Recreation Department. During the pandemic, she successfully transitioned many advanced classes to Zoom and continues to offer virtual instruction.
Drawing from decades of experience, Tori developed her own fusion-style approach to wellness that combines fitness, martial arts, dance, flexibility, and body mechanics. Her classes are student-centered, adaptable, and safety-focused, ensuring participants of all fitness levels feel welcomed and supported.
